The Mexican government has declared North Korea’s ambassador to the country, Kim Hyong-gil, persona non grata, ordering him to leave within 72 hours, Mexico’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement Thursday.
In the statement, it called Pyongyang’s nuclear activity “a flagrant violation of the international law” which poses “grave risk to international peace and security,” including to Mexico’s allies in Asia, such as Japan and South Korea.
It also pledged its support to the sanctions imposed on the rogue country by the UN.
