An extensive tropical cyclone, Bansi, has caused widespread disruptions of air traffic on the island of Mauritius and also other neighboring islands. Air Mauritius has issued several news updates during the day to keep passengers informed on flight cancellations which have affected mostly inbound flights but also all flights to the island of Rodrigues. South African Airways has also announced cancellations and rescheduling of several of their flights to Mauritius, and scheduled air traffic will return to normal only when the worst of the storm has passed and safe operations are again assured.
